Description

An archaeological excavation was carried out by Headland Archaeology Ltd in 2005 in response to a brief from the Highland Council Archaeology Unit at Home Farm, Portree, Isle of Skye. Fourteen excavation trenches were carried out across the site, focusing on areas from a previous evaluation (see EHG4056) that showed potential for archaeology. Possible evidence of a prehistoric settlement was uncovered as well as a large number of features from a post-medieval township. <1> Investigations from the site have subsequently been published as Scottish Archaeological Internet Report (SAIR) 54. <2> Click on the link to view the report.
