Description
This project was an extension of an archaeological assessment of North Ballachulish Moss carried out by GUARD in 1993 (see EHG156). The excavations were intended to contribute towards an assessment of the archaeological, palaeoevological and palaeogeographical aspects of the moss, including that of relatively poorly preserved areas, and to produce results which contribute to an understanding of past environment, climate, economy, domestic and ritual activity across the area, while minimising the damage to the bog. <1>
