Description

This project involved the excavation, or sample excavation, of a possible hut circle, a range of clearance cairns and remains of dykes. Work was conducted before the commencement of new pipeline works. The objectives of the archaeological excavations were: to record, to professional standards, any features and objects of archaeological importance that would be damages or destroyed by the development; to ensure that the need for archaeological excavation and recording was met without causing any unnecessary delay or disturbance to the project. Despite a small amount of snowfall during the excavation, weather conditions did not adversely affect fieldwork. <1>
