Description
Further trial excavations were undertaken by West Coast Archaeological Sevices at the High Pasture Cave site in 2007. A total of seven new trenches were opened up during the 2007 fieldwork season, while work also continued in two trenches (Trenches 11 and 14) that were initiated in 2006 (see EHG2874). The new trenches were located to further investigate the archaeological deposits in Bone Passage (Trench 17), the burnt mound and features surrounding the stairwell entrance to Bone Passage (Trenches 11, 14, 15, 16, 18 and 19); while Test Pits 01 and 02 focused on anomalies identified through the geophysical surveys conducted in 2006 (se EHG1384). <1>
