Description

A watching brief was carried out following topsoil stripping in advance of a new house and associated works. A further thin layer of subsoil was removed from the main house site during the watching brief. An exploratory trench was also cleared of topsoil to the west of the house site. A number of 19th-century land drains were identified and a stone slab was discovered lying horizontally within the clay subsoil. There was no evidence to suggest this was part of a structure. The area of the proposed ground source heat pump is due to be monitored in early 2009. <1>
