Description
In June and July 2009 GUARD undertook an archaeological evaluation on an area of ground associated with the construction of a flood relief channel in south-west Inverness. The evaluation consisted of 40 trial trenches covering 5% of the total development area. Two areas of potential archaeological interest were uncovered: a probable old ground surface in Trench 7 and two areas of burning in Trench 12. These were further investigated by opening up two larger trenches in these areas (see EHG3100). <1><2>
