Description

A walkover survey was undertaken over one week by Anne Bankier. The survey area covered the entire glen to a height of between 50m and 400m depending on gradient. The fields, coast at Camas na Croise and headland of Ceanna Mor were also included. The principal purpose of the research was to assess the evidence for Norse settlement as implied by the place name evidence. As part of this work the aim of the survey was to identify all the visible archaeological within the survey area and to assess the archaeology in light of this research goal. <1>
