Description

Two small trenches were excavated by Dr Michael Walker on the edge of a quarry pit at Shieldaig, after a local person had reported prehistoric lithic artefacts. A large assemblage of mainly quartz artefacts was recovered, with microlithic technologies predominating. <1> This lithic assemblage was re-evaluated in 2002 by Torben Bjarke Ballin. <2> An evaluation of an Ahrensburgian-type Tanged Point from this site was published by Torben Bjarke Ballin in 2003. <3>
