Description

A full desk-based study and reconnaissance field survey were conducted for the full extent of the proposed wind farm. No detailed survey was undertaken within the afforested areas owing to the dense, impenetrable nature of the plantation woodland or in heavily disturbed areas of recently felled forest. However, sites identified by the desk-based assessment were visited where access was possible. Thirteen sites of interest were identified within the proposed wind farm area and mitigation measures have been proposed. The previously unrecorded sites include field banks, enclosures and other features of local importance. <1> The report on this survey was submitted as part of the Environmental Statement for the wind farm and may be accessed on the Highland Council's e-Planning system under reference 10/05102/S36. The newly identified features have not yet been entered into the HER. <2>
