Description

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on preparation work on the site of a new house on rough peaty land located near the shore of Loch Sunart 120 m SW of Archie's Croft, Strontian. Some preliminary work was required to drain water from the boggy site and dig three inspection pits and a realigned drainage pipe was also inspected. No traces of archaeological settlement or artefacts were found and it is concluded that the only exploitation of this site has been for possible marginal rough grazing. No further archaeological work is considered necessary. <1>
