Description

Survey work was undertaken at Crathie, Spey Dam, in relation to the proposed use of a borrow pit for access track building materials, associated with the proposed Beauly to Denny 400kV overhead line development programme. An archaeological inspection survey, building on a series of earlier surveys, was undertaken and upstanding features of archaeological significance, representing parts of the extensive remains of the depopulated post-medieval settlement of Crathie, were marked out to ensure their avoidance. <1>
