Description

A desk-based assessment and archaeological walkover survey were carried out at Russel, Kishorn, to assess possible cultural heritage impacts of a proposed hydro‐electric pipeline and associated structures. The project was found to represent a revision of an existing hydro‐electric scheme, and the pipeline route ran through rough pasture and moorland. Nothing requiring extensive archaeological mitigation was encountered: one rough stone dyke was found to lie across the pipe line north of the turbine house; another linear feature was interpreted as the line of a 20th c. water main. The only other feature recorded was a road‐makers quarry alongside the Applecross road. <1> <2>
