Description

Additional monitoring and excavation was undertaken at Bellfield, North Kessock, by Headland Archaeology in 2011 in advance of a housing development by Tulloch Homes Ltd following initial excavations in the Summer of 2010 (see EHG3737). This encompassed an area to the east of Area 2B which amounted to a total additional area of 2200m². This contained 42 pits/postholes, of which 14 formed a discrete cluster (Pit Group 9). The results from this additional area were broadly consistent with those from the rest of Area 2B. <1>
