Description

Trial trenching was carried out in June 2012 by RoCAS and Applecross Archaeology Society to investigate two possible external features of the Applecross Broch. Two trenches were excavated targeting known features; an upright pillar stone and the continuation of a ditch excavated in previous investigations in 2010. Both trenches revealed new features of the site, whilst finds of iron slag, metal working debris, hammerstones and an iron dagger fragment were uncovered. <1>
