Description
An archaeological monitored strip was carried out by CFA Archaeology in late 2011 during mechanical soil stripping for the construction of a new substation at Dounreay Substation in Caithness. The ground breaking works consisted of the excavation of a square area measuring 84m by 65m to a maximum depth of 0.85m, revealing the natural bedrock. There were no features, deposits or artefacts of archaeological significance identified during the work. <1>
