Description

An archaeological desk-based assessment and walkover survey was carried out by RoCAS in 2012 at Easterton of Duntelchaig, Farr, in advance of the erection of wind turbines and other future development. The work was undertaken to establish the baseline extent and condition of any archaeological sites on the property and to assess the nature and extent of any archaeology likely to be affected within the areas outlined for development. The survey identified twenty-seven archaeological sites, eight of which were previously unrecorded, including post-medieval buildings and boundary walls and prehistoric clearance cairns. Mitigation measures were proposed to safeguard the sites during the construction of the new wind turbines and recommendations were made in the case of other future development. <1>
