Description

An archaeological controlled topsoil strip was carried out by Argyll Archaeology in 2013 over the proposed footprints of three new houses, access routes and the shared septic tank on land at 64 Ormsaigbeg Kilchoan. Machine excavation was to a maximum depth of 1.00 m below the current ground surface. The topsoil generally comprised a reddish brown silt loam (brown forest soil) up to 0.30 m thick. No features or deposits of archaeological or historical significance were exposed within the confines of the development area. <1>
