Description

An archaeological survey was conducted by S Farrell in 2010 in the area around the known hut circle of Tordarroch, Croftcroy, due to it lying in the area of a new house plot. The survey was first undertaken using a plane-table, after a walkover of the site; this was followed up by a survey by EDM and points to produce a contour map, and finally a ground plan of the main part of the site was made at 1:50. Survey work revealed a possible cultivation plot and a number of possible clearance cairns. A watching brief was subsequently carried out during work on the house plot itself (seeEHG). <1>
