Description
A DBA and walkover survey were carried out by J Hooper between May and July 2002 in advance of a proposed wind farm development at Farr, Inverness. The walkover survey was conducted along the lines of the proposed access tracks and the proposed turbine locations. Whilst multiple sites were identified within and close to the proposed area of development, one site in particular was considered to be at risk of from the development - General Wade's Military Road. It was suggested that if the access road was to be upgraded an archaeological watching brief would be required where the development may afect potentially undisturbed archaeological remains. It was also recommended that it would be preferable if any construction work undertaken could avoid the lines of grouse butts with a proposed buffer exclsuion zone of 10m. <1>
