Description

A detailed topographic survey was carried out by Headland Archaeology in December 2013 to enable detailed mapping of features 11, 17 and 18 to allow micrositing of track and/or to provide scope for any additional investigation at Corriegarth estate, Loch Mhor. The survey was carried out to provide a detailed plan of archaeological features to enable a construction design that would minimse the impact on known archaeology and the result would contribute to mitigation measures. The survey in the area of the proposed compound revealed upstanding archaeological remains in the northern part of the area, but a number of features that appear on the 1970 AP's appear to have been removed when the compound for the hydro-electric scheme was built in 2006. <1>
