Description
A desk-based assessment and walk over survey was carried out by Jennifer G Robertson and Catherine Dagg in July 2011 in advance of a proposed hydro-electric scheme at Wyvis Estate, in the parish of Kiltearn. Eleven archaeological sites were identified, including: a Cat A LB Lodge, a building and associated enclosure, field enclosures and structures, two buildings, a rubble dyke, a possible structure, a bridge, a stalkers path and borrow pit, a structure, a shelter and settlement features. Most features were unlikely to be affected by the development, although two buildings were vulnerable to damage or destruction, and a possible structure, the stalkers path and borrow pit may have been affected by the upgrading of the access track. <1>
