Description
A photographic survey and site visit was carried out by Headland Archaeology in April 2011 in advance of the proposed Beatrice offshore wind farm development in the Moray Firth. Seventeen sites were visited by C Jones of Headland Archaeology along the Caithness coastline to note the baseline condition of each site and to photograph the view from each one of them towards to proposed development zone. The seventeen sites included: Lybster Village conservation area and Lybster harbour, Dunbeath Castle, Harbour area and Inver Fort, the Latheron Wheel promontory Fort and quay, The Corr, Forse House including: gatelodge, doocot and walled garden, Tulloch Broch, Waternan South Broch, Castle of Old Wick, Garrywhin fort, Cairn Hanach, Cairn of Get, Hill O' Many Stanes, Wahligoe Steps and a fishing bothy. As well as photographs towards the development area, general shots of the sites themselves were also provided. <1> <2>
