Description

A DBA and walkover survey was carried out by J Duffy of L P Archaeology in advance of a proposed hydro-electric scheme in the Aberchalder burn, south of Easter Aberchalder. There were no known sites of a Prehistoric date within the development area. There was also no evidence of early medieval or medieval activity with the area. However, a number of small structures were identified at the southern end of the burn. They appeared to be a group of post Medieval shielings located in an area of upland grazing. It was thought that the construction of the access road would have a moderate adverse impact on any preserved archaeological remains. <1> <2>
