Description

The Creag Fithich WGS survey area covers 26 ha of land at Bridgend, Strathconon, and comprises a single low hill on the south bank of the River Meig. The summit of the hill consists of several rocky knolls rising slightly above lower, wetter ground to the south. Vegetation cover is a mixture of dry heath with some bracken and wet bog; the land is currently used as rough pasture for sheep. The survey area was systematically walked by a team of two archaeologists but no features of archaeological interest were identified. The ground conditions for field survey were generally good with low vegetation in areas of bracken. <1>
