Description

The WGS survey covers an area of approximately 61 ha of land around Lynebreck croft some 6 km south-east of Grantown-on-Spey on the A939 Grantown-Tomintoul road. The area straddles the A939 road and incorporates the south-east facing slopes of Beinn an Fhudair. With the exception of the fields around the Lynebreck croft, the area consists of dry heather moorland with a wetter boggy area to the south. The survey area was systematically walked by a team of two archaeologists and all features of archaeological interest were described and located using a Total Station. <1>
