Description

A trial trenching evaluation was carried out by SUAT on land adjacent to Nethybridge Cemetery, Nethybridge, in 1995 in advance of a proposed car park development. The site lay 40m south of Castle Roy, a Scheduled Monument. A geophysical survey had proved inconclusive (see EHG) so three trenches were excavated. Trench A measured 60m x 2m, Trench B measured 22m x 2m and Trench C measured 15m x 2m. No archaeological features or deposits were exposed and no artefacts were recovered. <1>
