Description

Two phases of archaeological monitoring were carried out on this site. The first phase took place on March 31st 1999 and the second phase on August 12th 1999. Both phases of monitoring were carried out on groundworks required for the construction of a new telecmmunications mast. The work was commissioned by Medlock Communications on behalf of their clients Cellnet Ltd. Specifications for the archaeological recording work were prepared by the Highland Council Planning and Development Service Archaeology Unit. Due to the presence of significant archaeological remains located in the immediate vicinity, groundworks for the mast construction were monitored. No archaeological features or deposits were revealed by groundworks in either phase of work. <1>
