Description

A watching brief was carried out by Stuart Farrell on groundworks associated with a new house plot near Torbreck Farm, Inverness, in 2002. Monitoring was undertaken during the machine removal of topsoil and subsoil to an average depth of 0.40m for the house plot and associated access to an area of 980m². Five small pits were exposed which contained fragments of cremated animal bone, carbonised hazelnut shells and charcoal. <1> A date in the neolithic was produced from radiocarbon dating. <2>
