Description

A desk-based assessment and rapid walkover survey was conducted in connection with a proposed native pinewood scheme. The walkover survey was concentrated in the more sheltered areas along Glas Choire and to the west of Rysaurie and Auchterteang. The sites identified by the survey represent the remains of the expansion of farming into the upland areas in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. No prehistoric remains were identified. <1> This survey identified new sites which have not yet been added to the HER. <2>
