Description
Trial trenching was carried out by GUARD to the east of the John O'Groats House Hotel in 1998 in advance of a proposed extension to the hotel complex. Three trenches were mechanically excavated, each measuring 15m x 1.5m and covering some 10% of the proposed development area. Two modern rubbish pits were exposed within Trench 2 but no features of archaeological significance were otherwise identified. <1>
