The GR given is approx, to high ground above Helmsdale to NW of Navidale. No evidence to place chapel in this area - HAW 1/2003
Frank Knight: Early Christ: "the 16th (ie martyr) Rectaire gave his name to Kill-Rect in Navidale, nr the mouth of the Helmsdale River" - HAW 1/2003
ND01NW 33 03 16.
St Rect is commemorated in Kilrect at Navidale, Kildonan. Rectaire, which indicates an official, was a disciple of Donan and perished in Eigg. A Mackay 1914.
Cill-Rect is a church foundation of St Rectaire at Navidale.
A B Scott 1906.
No trace found during field investigation. The name Kilrect was not known by locals who were asked.
