R V J Butt 1995. <2>
Built for the Duke of Sutherland's Railway in 1871. Broad-eaved cottagey main building. <3>
Early 1870s; the terminus of the Duke of Sutherland's Railway and the starting point of the Sutherland and Caithness Railway. <4>
Station building no longer in use. All windows are boarded over. <5>
Elizabeth Beaton describes this building as being "in Sutherland style, gabled with deep eaves and swept roof over revanda supported by bracketed timber arcade, a plainer version of its counterpart at Golspie". <6>
Photographs of the building were taken by K Bennett of Highland Council in 2010. <7>
A full photographic survey of the building in 2013 was supplied to support a planning application for the restoration and conversion of the derelict building for use as holiday lets. <8>
The statutory address of the listing was updated by Historic Scotland in 2013 after the Scottish Signal Box Review. <9>
