Full Description

NC60NW 61 6279 0554.

On the lower, S-facing slopes of Strath Fleet, within an early modern park enclosed by a ruinous wall, are the footings of a sheepfold which superficially resembles a hut circle. It measures about 12.5m in diameter wihtin a turf-covered wall spread to 1.5m wide and 0.7m maximum height. A ruinous wall approaches the fold from the W to within 4m of the W arc, then curves around the S and E arcs at a distance of between 4m and 8m, and continues in a NE direction to join the wall of the park. Fold and field walls are probably contemporary, being almost certainly early 19th century post-Clearance period.
Surveyed at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (NKB) 13 March 1981.

A farmstead, comprising two unroofed buildings and an enclosure is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879, sheet xcv), but it is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1992).
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 20 November 1995.
