Remains of a settlement, named Geochreabh or Geocharave on early maps, lie below the track and between streams and consist of an enclosure containing a longhouse 17m by 3.5m, a kiln 2m by 1.4m, an oval structure 7m by 4m and traces of other structures. N of the smaller stream is a mill-stone, 1.4m in diameter, supported on stones. A large area of ground around the bay is enclosed by a head dyke.

The early modern settlement is as described; the 'oval' structure is sub-rectangular. The group of footings is situated within a small enclosure. A small area of lazy beds lies to the N.
