Full Description

NC70SE 28 766 034.

NC 766 034. A settlement of four huts ('A'-'D'). Hut dimensions are between centres of walls, in the main peat-overgrown.
'A' built up and levelled into a slight W-facing slope, is 16.0m, N-S by 14.0m, with a probable entrance gap in the S. An old track passing through the hut interior has breached the N arc.
'B' is 8.5m in diameter with an entrance gap in the S.
'C' is 9.0m in diameter with an entrance gap in the SE.
'D' is 12.0m in diameter with no evident entrance gap. The wall in SSE quarter is much depleted.
The only certain indications of contemporary cultivation are several stone clearance heaps just to the N of hut 'A'. There are some fairly well-defined field banks in the immediate vicinity, but their dating is uncertain.
Surveyed at 1:10 000.
Visited by OS (J M) 31 July 1975.
