Full Description
At NC 7265 0840 and NC 7260 0841, in shelving ground on a S facing slope, are two hut circles (A and B respectively). Associated land-use is denoted by a number of stone clearance heaps in the vicinity. 'A' and 'B' measure 15 by 13.5m and 14 by 12m respectively over reduced, peat and heather-covered walls, best distinguished in intermittent outer facing slabs; entrances are in the SE, the line of the main axes.
Surveyed at 1:10 000. Visited by OS (J M) 8 April 1981.
Three closely-spaced hut-circles are situated on a small terrace on the SE flank of Cnoc na h-Airigh-sleibh. Two (ROG95 53, NC 7260 0841, (OS'B'); ROG95 55, NC 7265 0840, (OS'A')) have been previously recorded and measure 10.4m in diameter and 11.5m by 11m respectively within stony banks spread to 1.4m in thickness and up to 0.3m in height. Both have an entrance on the SE. The third hut-circle (ROG95 54, NC 7263 0842) comprises an oval platform measuring 8m from NW to SE by 6.5m transversely, with a slight dip in the apron on SE, which may indicate the position of the entrance.
Six small cairns (ROG95 980), measuring up to 4m in diameter and 0.3m in height, are situated on the well-drained ground immediately around the hut-circles.
