OS 6"map, (1963)

On a gentle W-facing slope is a settlement of three hut-circles (A-C), found during field investigation (OS {EGC}) in association with a minor field system. The latter is denoted by a fairly even distribution of field clearance heaps, spaced on average 20-25.0m apart, over an area of about three hectares; measurable cultivation plots are not discernible. 'A', set into the slope, stands out as the most robust hut. It is 10.5m inside diameter and has a slab-lined entrance passage, from the SW, 5.0m in length by 0.9m wide now partially choken with debris. The main wall has been gouged out in the S segment by a scooped rectangular depression intruding into the hut; elsewhere the wall is a heather covered rubble spread, 2.5m broad, standing at best, in the E, 0.8m high. In the hut interior are subsidiary walls forming two separate compartments, one against the SE arc the other against the NW. They are probably later. About 3.0m outside the hut in the NW is a peat-silted circular depression, approximately 5.0m diameter, suggestive of an enclosure perhaps contemporary; a wasted wall connects between the opposing arcs. 'B' is 9.0m diameter within a reduced peat-silted wall spread to 2.0m broad; an entrance is from the S.
'C', oval, is 12.5 by 11.5m internally. A partly obscured slab-lined entrance from the SW, on the line of the longer axis and 1.0m wide at the inside, is possibly splayed. The wall here is 1.7m thick but elsewhere is a low overgrown spread 2.0m broad.
Revised at 1:10,560.
Visited by OS (EGC) 18 May 1961 and (JM) 9 February 1977.
