Full Description

NC71SE 8 7613.

A ruined structure known locally as an outlaw's house is on an island in Loch Bad na H-Earba.
Visited by OS (A L F Rivet) assistant archaeology officer.

There are three islands in Loch Bad Na H-Earba. That at NC 7646 1370 bears a stunted tree and a few loose small stones which are insufficient to have been considered to be remains of a structure. The island at NC 7661 1389 is linked to the shore by a partly submerged causeway but the only feature upon it is a small modern cairn of stones.
The largest island is at NC 7646 1399. Near its eastern shore is a large outcrop rock and south of this are a few large boulders. These could be, or have been supposed to be, the remains of some form of shelter or structure, but no evidence of any structural arrangement of the rock and boulders could be seen.
Mr Boa (P Boa, Sciberscross) had no information to add, other than that the informant Mr R J Adam, Senior, had died recently. No further information was obtained at the Sutherland Estate Office, Golspie. Visited by OS (R D L) 23 April 1964.

All three islands are wholly natural with no structures resembling a "house" upon them.
Visited by OS (N K B) 14 June 1976.
