(NC 7929 6250) Enclosure (NR) OS 6"map, (1963)

A probable hut circle discovered during field investigation is partly scooped into a S facing slope. It measures 14 x 12.0m over an earth and stone bank spread to 3.5m and 0.7m high. The entrance, 2.5m wide is in the SE segment.
Visited by OS (J L D) 10 May 1960.

There is no hut circle at the OS published site, though about six scattered clearance heaps occur in the vicinity. A hut answering the description by the previous field investigator is at NC 7950 6237, built into an E facing hill-slope. It is bracken-infested, measuring 12.5m NNE-SSW by 11.0m transversely within a wall surviving to 0.4m. high, and spread to 2.0m broad. There is a displaced portal stone on the E side of the entrance in the SSW arc.
