Full Description

Doug Scott says this stone is named locally as "the shepherd and his dogs". The Dogs is the name given to the SE of this (ND12NW0081) where there are 2 small features marked on the 1st & 2nd ed OS - HAW 7/2004

Standing Stone (NR) OS 6" map, (1965)

Out on the moor at Borgue at its northerly end, and about 1/2 mile to the W of the main road to Wick, is a high standing stone. It is a slab rising 12ft 8ins ibove ground, pointed to its upper extremity, 5ft 6ins broad at greatest breadth, 3ft 5ins broad at base and 1ft 8ins in thickness. It faces W by N and E by S.
