Full Description

NC80NE 30 8587 0809.

Situated in a field system (NC80NE 5) are two cairns ('A' and 'B'). Both measure about 6.5m in diameter and have been excavated in the centre. 'A' NC 8592 0815 Situated on top of a small knoll. A slab on edge has been revealed in the centre. It measures 1.2m by 0.25m by 0.15m thick, orientated E-W and foremd the S side of a short cist. No other cist stones are apparent. Kerb stones are visible in the NW and S, elsewhere they are peat-obscured or displaced.
'B' NC 8582 0803 On the edge of a false crest and likewise has a single short cist slab in situ. It measures 1.5m by 0.35m by 0.15m thick, is orientated NW-SE and probably formed the NE side of the cist. Lying on the NW side of the cairn is a large irregular slab, 1.2m by 0.9m, possibly the capstone. Only isolated kerbstones survive.
Surveyed at 1:10,560.
Visited by OS (J B) 21 November 1975.
