Full Description
NC76SW 8 7306 6294.
(NC 7306 6294) Discovered during field investigation, set into a south west facing slope, is a stone walled hut, visible as platform, mutilated by quarrying, measuring 8.0m in diameter internally. Around the downhill side of the platform is a stone wall spread to 2m. The mutilated entrance is in the south arc. Extending north west from the hut on a ridge is a field system marked by stone clearance heaps, lynchets and walls forming plots varying from 40m by 20m to 20m by 15m. Isolated on the east slopes of the ridge are a number of stone clearance heaps, and about 200m south south east of the hut are about a dozen stone clearance heaps which are probably from contemporary cultivation plots.
Hut surveyed at 1:2500 scale. Visited by OS (R L) 12 July 1971.
No change. Surveyed at 1:10000.
Visited by OS (N K B) 2 August 1977.
