Full Description

At NC 7315 5390, in rising ground of south-westerly aspect, is a reduced hut circle overgrown with peat and heather, in association with a small field system. The hut is 10.0 by 7.0m internally within a wall 0.3m high at best, and spread on average 2.0m broad. The ill-defined entrance is from the S quarter on the line of the long axis. The N part of the hut interior is occupied by an amorphous mound, probably the result of peat silting. The field system comprises stone clearance heaps, spaced at closest 10.0m apart, occasional lynchets and, in particular along the W side, extensive banks; a plot, 20.0 by 15.0m, is identified.
Surveyed at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (J M) 13 July 1977.
