Full Description

Enclosure (NR) OS 6" map, (1969)

An enclosure was discovered during field investigation.
Surveyed at 1:10,560 Visited by OS (R D L) 5 May 1964.

On a SW-facing heather covered slope is a stone-walled hut within a small but well-preserved field system. The hut measures 12m internal diameter within a wall greatly obscured by peat spread to 2.5m broad. The entrance is in the W arc.
The field system extending for 2 hectares comprises cultivation plots, 25m by 15m average size, delineated mainly by clearance heaps with some lynchets evident.
