Full Description

At NC 7660 4002, on a spur on a west facing hillside, is a poorly preserved hut circle. The wall survives in the north west half only spread to 2m in width; elsewhere the walling is visible as a slight rim, suggesting an original internal diameter of about 9m. The entrance is no longer evident. Contemporary cultivation is denoted by sporadic heaps of field clearance round about, but measurable plots are not discernible.
About 300m to SSE and extending over five hectares are numerous heather covered mounds - many with a stony content - that appear akin to field clearance heaps usually associated with hut circles.
Surveyed at 1:10560. Visited by OS (J M) 20 May 1977.
