(NC 7394 1782) Cairn (NR)
OS 6"map, (1968)

On top of a natural bank is a cairn. Approximately twenty meatres NE of the cairn at the edge of an eroding river cliff is a course of stones which may be the west segment surviving of a circular enclosure about 9.0m in diameter.
Visited by OS (E G C) 21 July 1961.

The cairn measures 10.5m diameter by 0.4m high and is bounded by a kerb of contiguous slabs; stones protrude in the turf-covered, uneven interior. A modern pile of stones, 0.6m high, occupies the centre of the cairn.
The course of stones noted to the NE is of single slab width, more akin to a kerb than a wall, but whether is represents the remains of another cairn or of an enclosure is not clear.
Revised at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (J M) 14 May 1981.
