Full Description
NC71SE 24 7982 1169.
NC 7982 1169. A stone-walled hut circle found during field investigation on the west side of the Black Water glen.
The hut is set at the upper edge of a slope which forms the north side of a stream course. It is about 9.0m diameter over a wall, ill-defined and overgrown, spread to about 2.0m; there is a probable entrance in the east.
There is little trace of contemporary cultivation. About 70.0m to the north are two piles of stones, probably clearance heaps of an associated field system.
Surveyed at 1:10 560.
Visited by OS (JM) 3 December 1975.
