Full Description

NC73SW 17 7307 3123.

At NC 7307 3123, on the eastern slopes of Cnoc a' Chromuillt, there is a small enclosure, probably a hut circle. It has been levelled onto the slope and measures 5.0m NE-SW by 3.5m. The wall is spread to about 1.5m and survives to two courses (0.4m) of random dry-stone walling in the SW. The NW arc is rather indistinct and if this is a hut, must have been disfigured. The entrance is in the SE.
Numerous mounds lie on the hillside to the N and S, with a concentration around the enclosure on average 10.0m apart. All are heavily peat-masked and they range in height from 0.1m to 0.6m. Many are undoubtedly natural, although some of the larger heaps, one or two with the odd stone visible, are field clearance. To the S of the enclosure there are a number of peat-covered banks; whether they are linear clearance or natural formations is unclear. No plots are visible.
Surveyed at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (J B) 10 May 1977.
