Full Description

At NC 7489 0911 and NC 7497 0908, on a S-facing slope are two hut circles (A and B respectively). Associated field clearance is denoted in a group of stony mounds occupying an area mainly between the huts. Remains of old walls south of 'A' and west of 'B' seem most likely to relate to Grudie township abandoned in the 19th century (See NC70NW 3). The huts are heather or turf-covered and the walls collapsed.
'A' measures 7.5 by 6m inside a wall spread from 2-2.5m and up to 0.4m high; the entrance is no longer discernible.
'B', set in at the top of a slope, measures 10 by 9m across within a wall-spread 2-3m and up to 0.7m high; the entrance is in the E on the line of the main axis.
Surveyed at 1:10 000. Visited by OS (J M) 2 April 1981.
