('A': NC 5878 6191 Hut Circles (NR); 'B': NC 5878 6189; 'C': NC 5877 6187; 'D': NC 5881 6189)
OS 6" map (1962)

The remains of four possible hut-circles discovered during field investigation.
'A' is a well-defined sub-circular hut, 6m in diameter, formed by an earth and stone bank, 1m broad and 0.2m high. The entrance is inturned on the east side and there are indications of a bank flanking the entrance on the outside.
'B' is a small rectangular foundation 4m by 5m bounded by a bank of earth and stones 1m broad and 0.2m high. A clearance heap is situated at its south end.
'C' is a mutilated circle, 5m in diameter, with flanking bank covering the entrance on the east side. The bank is 1m broad and 0.1m high.
'D' is oval 2m by 3m, formed by a low turf bank 0.2m high. There are stone clearance heaps in the area, some of which have been robbed, giving an erroneous impression of being huts.
Visited by OS (JLD) 21 April 1960; Visible on RAF air photographs 106G/Scot/UK/75: 3148-50

These are not hut circles, but may be shieling-type bothies associated with the 18/19th century settlement.
'A' on a shelf, appears to be a sub-rectangular structure with a curving south wall. There are traces of an internal division.
'B' the remains of a rectangular structure.
'C' an excavated clearance heap.
'D' possibly an excavated clearance heap or a small stock enclosure.
The turf covering on the clearance heaps in the vicinity gives them the appearance of considerable age but as one appears to overlie the south side of enclosure 'B' they must be later.
Visited by OS (ISS) 30 June 1971

About twelve hut foundations lie to the south of those noted above.
T C Welsh 1973

The field report of OS Investigator (ISS, 1971) is verified. There is
no trace of "hut foundations" noted by Welsh.
Visited by OS (NKB) 15 September 1977
